Innovation and Evaluation Theme Strategy

We will collaborate with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) to provide training and support in evaluation, use of implementation theories in practice, sustainability and spread of health interventions to consolidate our position as a leading provider of implementation and evaluation expertise across NWL and beyond.

In alignment with the new ARC objectives, we will use a data-driven approach to research and evaluate the impact of a novel proactive, hyperlocal community-based approach to Community Health and Wellbeing Workers (CHWW), scaling the programme throughout NWL and beyond by focusing on key NHS England (NHSE) and ICB priority areas.

We'll collaborate with NHSE to expand the National Population Health Fellowship, helping to diversify the public health workforce. By building a community of practice, we'll help local systems implement CHWW roles in hyperlocal healthcare. In partnership with GMC, FPH, and RCGP, we'll support the development of dual-accredited training programs to infuse public health skills into primary care. This aligns with the broader ARC NWL objectives of fostering new career pathways.

We will consolidate our position as a leader in Frugal Innovations (FI) by championing FI through research and training on FIs and innovative methods for decolonising higher education curricula and research for equitable global knowledge sharing.
