Multimorbidity

Problem

Multimorbidity, an individual having two or more long term conditions, has been linked to decreased quality of life, increased treatment burden and increased risk of mortality.

Data on the most common clusters of conditions in populations and subgroups is limited, as are data on the impact of multimorbidity.

Aim

Describe clusters of multimorbidity in the NWL population, taken from WSIC data.

Identifying clusters of conditions will provide evidence to improve care services for individuals with multimorbidity. Something that without data from WSIC, combined with modern data analysis methods, may not be possible.
