Rupal Parikh

Rupal is an Advanced Physiotheraphy Practitioner and Spinal Pathway Lead at the Musculoskeletal Service, Central London Community Health NHS Trust.

Rupal qualified as a physiotherapist in 1999 and has worked in musculoskeletal practice for the past 20 years. She has worked across a wide range of healthcare settings in the UK, Australia, and India. Her main areas of interest are spinal conditions, and for the past 10 years, she has worked as a Spinal Specialist Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner and Spinal Pathway Lead, building up extensive clinical skills in this area.

In 2001, she completed a master’s degree in Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia. More recently, she has completed an MSc Trauma and Orthopaedics spinal module at Salford University. Rupal is an independent prescriber and has worked as a specialist in joint and soft tissue injections since 2009.

Rupal’s Fellowship project follows her passion and enthusiasm for digital transformation within the musculoskeletal physiotherapy service. The project includes the development of a dedicated musculoskeletal physiotherapy webpage supporting patients in self-management of their musculoskeletal condition and an informative webpage for local GP’s and clinicians to improve engagement across health care. To maximise the use of the current digital electronic record system, her project also includes the development of a digital musculoskeletal assessment portal with the goal being to improve service productivity and overall patient care.

Rupal believes that this Fellowship project is the perfect opportunity for her to expand her skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influence all with a view to improving the standard of care we offer the people in our community.
