Nesrin Yurtolgu

Nesrin holds a BSc and MSc in Psychology and two RCGP postgraduate certificates in the Management of Substance Misuse in Primary Care and Secure Environments. Her areas of expertise include mental health, public health, substance misuse treatment, primary care including general practice, pharmacy, dental and optical services, standards and inspections and social services, at the statutory (NHS), local and not-for-profit sector.

Professionally she has extensive training in training, management and commissioning. She is a graduate of the NHS BME Breaking through Aspiring Managers Programme. Her work experience includes various positions including as a practitioner, project manager, commissioner, family support worker and translator and/or interpreter. All of this results in Nesrin being a very able presenter of non-clinical perspective, offering constructive challenge to all she engages with.

Nesrin’s engagements include working with her local CCG and Healthwatch with its Mental Health task group and now is a member of PPV. Nesrin has witnessed discriminatory treatment to various group and as such has become committed to providing equal access and delivering services that actively demonstrate a non-discriminatory approach. Nesrin is passionate about ensuring access to the highest quality health, mental and social care services as well as helping to empower individuals of all ages, genders and cultures, particularly the seldom heard voices, to make the most of these services. Nesrin devotes a significant amount of time to various groups including women, the Turkish community, and unpaid carers. Nesrin is also a dedicated carer for a family member with complex needs.
