Heidi Ottosen

Consultant Midwife, Imperial College Healthcare Trust

Originally from Copenhagen, Heidi has a background in humanitarian development and public health prior to her midwifery career. As a Consultant Midwife, Heidi has a passion for rights-based approach to healthcare with a particular interest in equity, equality and inclusion.

Through the ARC Fellowship, Heidi will develop qualitative research on the lived experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community and their journey from preconception to early parenthood including surrogacy and adoption.

The research sets out codesign shared inclusive language within maternity services enabling inclusivity and model an umbrella service for this specific cohort of service users.
