Emma Stilwell
Matron, Quality Improvement, Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust
Emma was previously a Matron for Critical Care Outreach, Resuscitation, and Interventional Radiology. During the COVID-19 pandemic Emma set up a dedicated COVID-19 clinical research facility to facilitate COVID-19 vaccine trials for healthy participants.
In her current role, Emma plans to promote the quality agenda within her organisation by implementing ward accreditation. She aims to bring teams together for enhanced cohesiveness, seamless data collection, and improved patient outcomes.
Emma hopes the fellowship will enable her to build upon the rollout of ward accreditation. She would like to share her experience as a beacon process and serve as an ambassadorial role for networks across the NIHR London and beyond.
The aim of his Fellowship with NIHR ARC Northwest London is to improve the falls risk assessment and management plan across the front door of the Trust initially in St Mary’s Hospital, with the longer-term aim of expanding this across the multidisciplinary team to reduce duplication of assessment, increased patient involvement and self-management.
