Arpana Soni
Arpana is a Senior Paediatric Trainee. Alongside her clinical training, she works as a Child Health Integrated Care Fellow with Connecting Care for Children (CC4C) based at St Mary’s hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Arpana is passionate about improving health outcomes for children, young people, and families. Through her work with CC4C she has supported the development of child health GP hubs across Northwest London, bringing paediatric expertise into primary care and building relationships between community child health professionals to enable the right health care to be delivered to children and young people, by the right people, at the right place.
As a clinician working with local families, Arpana can gain a greater understanding about what matters to local communities and their children’s health. She is then able to share this learning with her child health colleagues in hospitals and other commissioning teams to use when designing and delivering child health services.
Arpana will be working alongside local mother, Hanan and CC4C’s Public and Patient Engagement Lead, Phoebe, during the Fellowship. The trio have experience in developing meaningful engagement with local citizens, co-delivering projects aimed to provide peer-to-peer support and help citizens better navigate the complex local health system. During their Fellowship, they will be focusing on the identified local child health concern: young people’s ownership of their healthcare, working with local families and local stakeholders in child health to drive positive change for young people accessing healthcare.
