Annabel Lazarus

During her career, Annabel has developed a keen interest for Quality Improvement and is always striving for ways to improve patient care. She is looking forward to learning new skills through the Improvement Leader Fellowship Program and applying these skills to improve services in local and wider settings within healthcare in the future.

Annabel has a wealth of experience seeing Gastroenterology patients in Dietetic Clinics and has a passion for improving the dietetic experience and service for patients within this cohort, such as those with coeliac disease, IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Annabel is aware of the limited resources available for this cohort of patients and the prolonged waiting list times that are present.

Her Improvement Leader Fellowship Project seeks to evaluate the current Dietetic Gastroenterology Service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and gather information on patient experience of the service. The aim is to refine the referral pathway and efficiency for patients being referred into the Dietetic Gastro Clinics, striving to improve waiting list times, patient satisfaction within the service and patient outcomes regarding dietetic provision.
