Stephanie Stevenson-Shand

Corporate Nursing Programme Lead,
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

Stephanie has been a nurse for over 25 years working at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital since 2004

Her nursing career started at Harefield Hospital in AICU in the Transplant Unit. She completed her Masters in Cardiothoracic Nursing at Imperial College London. She completed a dissertation on a quantitative and qualitative study regarding patient satisfaction after receiving advanced technology treatments outside the Intensive Care setting.

She has had a very interesting career in nursing and general management and particularly enjoyed managing Women and Children’s. She then took a side step and helped lead the transformation of the electronic patient rollout as an engagement lead.

When COVID-19 came she led the isolation hotel and then vaccination throughout Northwest London, including leading vaccination at Westminster Abbey. These roles made her realise how much she missed nursing and she is now a Corporate Nursing Programme Lead.

She is now the falls Senior Responsible Officer, leads the vaccination programme and is part of the Magnet Team which is improving nursing satisfaction. The aims is this will improve patient satisfaction with their care, improving anbd accessibility for patients, staff and the public,

Stephanie's Improvement Leader Fellowship project is to improve the uptake of Flu vaccinations across the Trust predominately for the healthcare team and patients and the public across NWL.

She says: "There is no magic wand but I am commencing by asking staff what worked well and not so well for them in the last campaign rather than waiting until after the campaign to ask these questions."
