Sangeetha Ilanko

Senior Programme Officer, Brent Council

Sangeetha is a Senior Programme Officer at Brent Council. In 2020, Sangeetha coordinated the setup of the Brent Health Matters programme to bring the council, NHS and communities together to tackle health inequalities in the borough.

Currently, as the PM, Sangeetha manages the delivery of the fully established programme which includes a range of workstreams; from community engagement and involvement, informing and supporting residents, to improving access to services.

Through her fellowship programme, Sangeetha hopes to gather insights from hidden communities such as night shift workers, to understand their needs and barriers to good health and wellbeing. Sangeetha will use the insights gathered to shape the local support offered to these communities. Furthermore, Sangeetha intends to apply learnings from her project to future improvement projects within the Brent Health Matters programme, to help reduce health inequalities in Brent.
