Jane Murray

Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist

Jane Murray is a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist who has been qualified for 16 years and specialises in adult neurological rehabilitation. She has extensive experience in acute and community settings, working in London and Hertfordshire, and she currently works in a Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team in West Hertfordshire, Central London Community Healthcare Trust.

Her fellowship project is driven by some of the challenges presented by COVID-19 and aims to deliver a digital Stroke Self-Management Group for West Hertfordshire patients who have received stroke rehabilitation through the trust. Self-management is integral for secondary prevention, promoting a healthy lifestyle and most importantly supporting Stroke Survivors. It is an essential aspect of the service she works in and provides long term skills and knowledge to Stroke survivors. With the completion of the project, its aim is to make the group programme as accessible to as many patients, whilst face to face group contact is not available. Its success could mean an alternative preference to patients in the future.
