Emergency Department Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

Bruno is a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist currently working within the Acute & Emergency Medicine Therapy Team at St Mary’s Hospital. Taking a leadership role working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team completing assessments of patients in the emergency department setting to facilitate early supported discharge and prevent admission to the hospital wards. Having previous experience in acute, community and rehab care having undertaken leadership roles both in the Specialist Medicine and Geriatric Rehabilitation Ward setting. With a keen interest in quality improvement and to gain more experience leading on quality improvement projects. 

The aim of his Improvement Leader Fellowship project with NIHR ARC Northwest London is to improve the falls risk assessment and management plan across the front door of the Trust initially in St Mary’s Hospital, with the longer-term aim of expanding this across the multidisciplinary team to reduce duplication of assessment, increased patient involvement and self-management.
