Angela works as an Advanced Lived Experience Educator at the Central & North West London (CNWL) Recovery and Wellbeing College. She has lived experience of bipolar disorder and associated problems which had a profound impact on the course of her life with ten years spent in the psychiatric system.
Angela started to recover thirteen years ago and is proud to say that she has been working very effectively in lived experience roles within mental health services for another ten years. She has spent most of that time as a Senior Peer Recovery Trainer with CNWL Recovery College and as a Peer Researcher with The McPin Foundation. Her new role brings in leadership and training of the growing Peer workforce within CNWL, research, service innovation and quality improvement. All her work is informed by my own lived experience of recovery and supporting colleagues to use theirs.
