Adshayan Saravanamuthu
Research Analyst, Brent Council
Adshayan is a Research Analyst, specialising in quantitative data as part of the public health team in Brent Council.
In 2023, Adshayan was responsible for leading the technical design and implementation of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) interactive dashboard tool which was an important visual representation of data of the borough’s health and wellbeing priorities that both internal staff and residents could access and utilise for their needs. His work currently is aligned to the JSNA work, looking into the air quality needs assessment which delves further into the health inequalities within the borough looking into demographics such as ethnicity and deprivation to identify any links between bad respiratory health and poor air quality.
Tackling health inequalities has always been a priority at Brent Council and data is currently being analysed using the same traditional research methods as an approach to reaching this outcome. Adshayan, alongside Arisa and David believe that an intersectional approach beyond demographics where psychological and social values are captured will work to provide a more complete picture of the boroughs population.
